Shepherd’s Care’s Core Values

 We Are...

 We Are...

Jesus First

Gal 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. NIV

Psalm 119:133 - Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. NLT

Jesus First means having a Biblical worldview. We are not guided by societal norms, cultural values, social media fads or even governmental dictates. We are guided by God’s Word.

Jesus First is thinking and living by Christians about anything and everything in a consistently Christian way – in a manner that is shaped, directed, and restrained by the truth of God’s Word.

Questions to see if we are living Jesus First:

Is my life shaped, directed and restrained by God’s Word?

Do I take God’s word above all others?

Is the why of my life his Word?

Jesus first answers the questions of why? Why am I going to do this, choose this, act this way, talk this way, watch this, vote this, think this… Why? If the answer is about you, then you are not living Jesus First. The answer needs to be this is what the Bible leads me to do. Because you hear a voice behind you (His Word) saying this is the way walk in it. Isaiah 30:21

This is Jesus First.

Jesus Always

Col 2:6 - And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. NLT

2 Cor 7:1 - Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.NLT

Questions to see if we are living “Jesus Always.”

Am I living on Monday what I sing on Sunday?

Do I daily take up my cross; following and relying upon Jesus?

Do I daily strive towards and rest in His perfection?

The only reliable evidence of a person's being saved is not a past experience of receiving Christ but a present life that reflects Christ.

No Christian is totally free from the presence of sin in this life, but in Christ he is willingly freed from his orientation to sin. He slips and falls many times, but the determined direction of his life is away from sin. This determined direction is Jesus Always.

It is not enough to say we are ChristiansWe must live the faith, not only with our words, but with our actions.” — Pope Francis.

Faith alone saves but faith that saves is never alone. Martin Luther

This is Jesus Always

Jesus’ Team

Romans 12:5 – so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.

Eccl. 4:12 – Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. NIV

Questions to see if we are living “Jesus’ Team.”

Am I living like together is better?

Am I treating others as a necessary part of my wholeness?

Do I live like I need you and you need me?

We need each other. I need you and you need me. Are we living life isolated or are we living life together. There is a reason why God warns us to don’t quit going to church. Teamwork is the thorough conviction that nobody can get there unless everybody gets there. Jesus’ team means all of us together.

True sustaining faith and growth will only happen when the individual becomes a part of the body.

This is Jesus’ Team

Jesus’ Hands

1 John 3:18 Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. NLT

Matt 25:40 - "And the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!' NLT

Questions to see if we are living “Jesus’ hands.”

Am I being moved by God’s compassion for the world?

We very well might be the clearest picture of Jesus that some people will ever see so how are we revealing him?

Jesus commands us to go out into the world and make disciples. That is not just the calling of the few, but the calling of all who are Christian. We are to preach the Gospel with our words yes, but also with our actions.   Jesus’ Hands means we preach with our words and our actions to help others.

James 2:15-17 - Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

Jesus’ Glory

Revelation 5:12 - And they sang in a mighty chorus: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—
to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”

Mark 12:30 - And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. '

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

We live for Jesus’ glory. We will give him his glory by worshiping him with a life lived for him, but also with our voices raised in extravagant praise! We will bold proclaim with our lives and our mouths our love for God. We will not let the rocks cry out in our place (Luke 19:39-40). We will join with the elders and the angels in worshiping with song now and forever (Revelation 7:11-12).

Questions to see if I am living Jesus’ Glory?

Do I worship God as passionately as He loves me?

Does my worship appropriately express the depth of my sorrow, the height of my gratitude, and the greatness of my desperation to God?

Do I worship God everyday of the week?

Psalm 63:1 - You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

Hebrews 4:14-16 -   So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Hebrews 12:28-29 - Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,

29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”

This is Jesus’ Glory.

At Shepherd’s Care, our beliefs are rooted in the timeless truths of the Christian faith. We are committed to following the teachings of the Bible and strive to create a community where individuals can grow in their understanding of God and His love for humanity.
